Any news regarding PML/sponge layers...

Dear fellow FEniCS-users,

one year ago it seemed that there was no support yet for PML in FEniCS. As I would be interested to simulate the losses of a wave (for that I need some kind of absorbing layer) when travelling through a waveguide. I would be interested to know whether this changed in the meantime, but just didn't make it to documentation or whether one has to use workarounds like sponge/absorbing layers. As I am quite new to these coordinate transforms, I was asking myself whether PMLs or absorbing layers (I guess with viscosity terms) lead to the same results. In the FEniCS-book there is an example with waves in a harbor where these sponge layers were mentioned as well, but I didn't wrap my head around quite yet. I am currently setting up FEniCS again and will post working code asap.

If in the meanwhile someone could comment on the above I would be really grateful.
Thank you very much in advance,
Steffen
