selective mesh refinement

Hi,

I am solving PDEs over multiple subdomains and I set the strong Dirichlet BC so that the variable is identical to a fixed value in one of the subdomains; which, by the way, constitutes a large portion of the computational domain.

I'd be thankful if you could let me know if there's a way I can ask FEniCS to use very coarse mesh in a designated subdomain and fine mesh only elsewhere?

Construct globally coarse mesh and use refine.
