Hi everybody, this is my first post and I an going to ask what, to mee, looks like a very dumb question :(
Consider the tutorial given in http://fenicsproject.org/documentation/tutorial/fundamentals.html#implementation-1 , namely
from dolfin import *
# Create mesh and define function space
mesh = UnitSquareMesh(6, 4)
#mesh = UnitCube(6, 4, 5)
V = FunctionSpace(mesh, 'Lagrange', 1)
# Define boundary conditions
u0 = Expression('1 + x[0]*x[0] + 2*x[1]*x[1]')
[...]
If I run it with Python 2.7.5, it works, but if I try to change the Expression line, whatever I enter makes it crash :(
More precisely,
u0 = Expression('1 + x[0]*x[0] + 2*x[1]*x[1]')
works, but any of the following
u0 = Expression('1 + x[0]*x[0] + 2.0*x[1]*x[1]')
u0 = Expression('1 + x[0]*x[0] + 3*x[1]*x[1]')
u0 = Expression('1 + 2*x[0]*x[0] + 2*x[1]*x[1]')
u0 = Expression('1 + x[0]*x[0] + 1*x[1]*x[1]')
doesn't.
Python complains
