Select alternate swig binary when installing instant from source code

0 votes

I'm trying to install Fenics from source on Ubuntu (14.04). I know Swig >= 3.0.3 is required to install FFC. So I installed the 3.0.5 binary available in the Fenics PPA.

  1. Do I need to use the same version of Swig for both Instant and FFC?
Right now, I've got the binaries 'swig', 'swig2.0', and 'swig3.0' installed. And whereas FFC looks for both swig and swig3.0, it seems that Instant only checks for 'swig'. So it installs with version 2.0. Is that an issue?

  2. If it is an issue, how do I install Instant using 'swig3.0'?

Thanks

If anyone has the same questions,
1. I saw on a forum (sorry, didn't save the reference) that it could be an issue.
2. 'swig' seems to be just a link, so I made it point to 'swig3.0'.
