A master student of mine is about to start a thesis on controlling the melting process of a block of ice exposed to a laminar flow.
The basic model will consist of a (possibly one-way) coupling of
- Navier-Stokes Equations to a model for the
- Stefan Problem
We are almost sure that we will use finite elements for the modelling, but we haven't decided on the specific software package yet.
Are there example implementations of
- free surface problems or
- moving boundary problems
in FEniCS. Or, more generally, examples with moving or deforming meshes.
Any hint is greatly appreciated.
