UnitIntervalMesh in Windows 7 or Windows 8.1

0 votes

Does not recognize the this command. Runs under Ubuntu.
My 10 inch tablet (32 bit Windows 8.1 ; x86 processor) does not allow Ubuntu to be loaded. UEFI firmware block. No real solution in Ubuntu forum threads that I have looked at.

Also Ipython notebook does not run in FEniCS under Windows but does under Ubuntu.

New user. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

The Windows build is FEniCS 1.0 while Ubuntu is at 1.4. Try UnitSquare instead of UnitSquareMesh and study the examples matching the build which you use.

Thanks. Much appreciated.

I did finally load Ubuntu on my Acer Aspire Switch 10 via VMware Player. It got round the UEFI firmware issue. FEniCS on the ipython notebook in Ubuntu is slow but with ipython, FEniCS is reasonable with the examples I explored.
