Can Fenics simulate gas-solid flows?

I would like to entrain particles into a pressurized gas flow and study the effect of gas pressure, particle size and its distribution, and saltation physics on the effect on shear forces at the surface of cavities. Is this possible with Fenics?

I'm sorry about the lack of depth of my question, but I'm a newbie in computational science.
In the case of a 2 phase flow of gas and particles, how does FEniCS help the user with the 1 or 2-way coupling between gas and solid particles? In the book in section 28.5 about robust fluid-structure interaction there is a description that one can set up either 2 independent solvers or set up a monolithic FSI in a single continuum model with two different constitutive laws for describing the motion of both phases, IIUC.
But, different to the FSI problem, where I can apply forces and stresses to the structure that result from the coupling of either 2 solvers or 2 describing laws, can I use these forces to check on a saltation condition, and if fulfilled 'add' another particle into the system that would need to be considered in the next step?

You can do this with FEniCS, but it needs to be programmed (by you). FEniCS is a library for programming solvers for PDEs so you need to figure out which method you are going to use, implement it, and then come back with specific questions on the implementation. Good luck with your project!
