Most memory efficient solver?

Dear Fellow-Fenics-Users,

Is there a significant difference between the memory requirements of different solvers, and which one is most efficient?

(one probably notes the beginner: I am ignoring all the other differences between the solvers in my question. If there is a good overview of different solves with some explanations what they are good for and what not, I would be delighted too :) )

Are you interested in direct or iterative solvers? If direct - I prefer MUMPS.
