can we solve coupled PDEs coupled with an integral equation as well with FEnics

+1 vote

Hello there,

I have got 4 coupled equations, 3 of which are PDEs and the last one is an integral equation (derived from a volume constraint). I have a biharmonic operator in one of the PDEs, as well. Since I am new to FEnics, I wanted to ask if anyone knows whether FEnics can handle such a system of equations or not. I am specifically concerned about the integral equation personally. Because I have tried another package which could take care of the PDEs but not the integral equation. I appreciate any recommendation.

Thanks;
Ali

Hey there, here are just two links that might be helpful for you problem.

Here is an example of three coupled equations in FEniCS.
This might be helpful to understand how to use FEniCS for integral equations

An example for how to deal with a biharmonic operator exists in the Cahn-Hilliard demo I think.

Maybe this helps.

Hello,

Thanks for the links. They are actually very useful.
