Prerequisites of FEniCS

0 votes

Hello,

A few months ago I had installed FEniCS and I have been trying to use
the manual and book to understand FEniCS but I am still having
difficulties understanding it and that is why I thought of asking you a
question.

Do I need to have any specialist knowledge prior to starting the FEniCS
manual/book? For example, do I need to know Python or are there other
prerequisites?

Thank you very much!

Ellie

It depends on what you are trying to achieve. I guess you need a good background in mathematics, physics or engineering and it is worth reading some primers on Finite Element Analysis, and Python. If you can write in C++, then you don't really need Python. But Python is probably easier than C++.
